Conflict of interest policy

Ecos de la Academia establishes strict criteria to prevent, identify, and manage conflicts of interest during the submission, review, editing, and publication of manuscripts.

A conflict of interest is understood as any situation in which personal, academic, institutional, employment-related, financial, professional, ideological, or other interests may influence, or may reasonably be perceived as capable of influencing, the objectivity, independence, impartiality, or transparency of the editorial process.

Authors must declare any potential conflict of interest at the time of manuscript submission. This declaration includes financial, employment-related, institutional, academic, personal, or collaborative relationships that may affect the interpretation of results, the presentation of the research, or the editorial evaluation of the work.

To ensure double-blind peer review, authors must submit an anonymized version of the manuscript that does not reveal names, affiliations, acknowledgements, funding sources, projects, repositories, file metadata, or any other element that may directly or indirectly identify the authors.

Reviewers must decline to evaluate a manuscript when there is a recent academic, institutional, personal, professional, or collaborative relationship that could compromise their independence. They must also inform the editor of any circumstance that may affect the confidentiality, objectivity, or impartiality of their review.

Editors who have a conflict of interest regarding a manuscript must abstain from participating in its editorial management, evaluation, or final decision. In such cases, the manuscript will be reassigned to another member of the editorial team or editorial board.

Ecos de la Academia ensures that communication among authors, reviewers, and the editorial team is conducted under criteria of confidentiality, academic respect, traceability, and procedural transparency, while preserving the anonymity required during evaluation.
