Authorship and contribution policy

Authors are those individuals who have made a significant contribution to the research process, writing, review, and communication of results, in accordance with the roles recognized by the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT) . Authors must indicate the specific role of each contributor in the Article Submission Letter .

Authors must be listed in the order previously agreed upon by them and must include the following information:

• Standardized academic name, preferably matching the ORCID record.
• Institutional or academic contact email address.
• Complete institutional affiliation, including city and country. Where possible, authors are encouraged to include the institutional ROR identifier.
• Valid and verifiable ORCID iD.

The person who submits the manuscript or uploads it to the journal platform is understood to assume the role of corresponding author. Therefore, this person is responsible for managing communication with the editorial team of Ecos de la Academia throughout the editorial process.

Manuscripts submitted to Ecos de la Academia must be original, unpublished, and not under simultaneous evaluation by another journal, publisher, or academic outlet.

Manuscripts must be submitted with the consent of all authors. Each author must know and accept the submission, the authorship order, the version submitted for review, and the responsibilities derived from the editorial process until the final decision.

Authors must promptly report any error, omission, or information requiring correction at any stage of the editorial process. Requests must be sent to the journal email address: ecos@utn.edu.ec.

Authors retain copyright over their articles and grant Ecos de la Academia a non-exclusive, free-of-charge, worldwide licence for the publication, distribution, preservation, and dissemination of their articles. This authorization is formalized through the Article Submission Letter , which must be completed and signed by all authors.

The editorial team may make adjustments related to editing, style, bibliographic normalization, textual clarity, metadata, title, abstract, keywords, tables, figures, and other formal elements, provided that such changes do not alter the scientific meaning of the approved manuscript.

Authors are advised to carefully review the writing, spelling, punctuation, argumentative coherence, paragraph length, and formal consistency of the manuscript before submission.
