Análisis de rendimiento de controladores SDN en una red emulada para tráfico de streaming

Las redes definidas por software (SDN) requieren controladores eficientes para gestionar tráfico sensible al tiempo, pero existe evidencia limitada sobre su desempeño comparativo bajo condiciones de carga exigentes. Este estudio evalúa tres controladores SDN ampliamente utilizados: OpenDaylight (ODL), ONOS y Ryu, bajo tres escenarios de carga (baja, media y alta) en un entorno emulado con Mininet. Se midieron latencia, jitter, throughput, pérdida de paquetes, disponibilidad y consumo de memoria durante la transmisión de streaming multimedia. Los resultados muestran que Ryu mantiene el mejor equilibrio entre continuidad del servicio y entrega efectiva conforme aumenta la concurrencia, con menor degradación en disponibilidad y throughput. ONOS presenta un desempeño competitivo con enfoque en alta disponibilidad, mientras que ODL muestra mayor sensibilidad al incremento de carga, especialmente en métricas de entrega. El estudio concluye que la selección del controlador debe priorizar la continuidad y la fiabilidad de entrega en escenarios de alta concurrencia.
