Article submission

Manuscripts must be submitted in Word format, with a .doc or .docx extension, through the online platform of Ecos de la Academia. The maximum length will depend on the document type. Research articles must not exceed 8,000 words, excluding references. Exceptionally, the editorial team may consider longer manuscripts when there is a relevant academic justification. All submissions must strictly comply with the journal’s editorial guidelines.

Submission checklist

To facilitate the editorial process, authors must verify that the manuscript meets the following requirements before submission. Manuscripts that do not comply with these guidelines may be returned to the authors for correction. Some of these aspects must be declared in the Article Submission Letter .

Items to verify:

• The manuscript is original, unpublished, and has not been simultaneously submitted to another journal.
• The Article Submission Letter includes the full names of all authors and identifies their contributions according to the CRediT taxonomy.
• The manuscript is written in one of the publication languages accepted by the journal: Spanish or English.
• The manuscript file has been submitted in Word format, with a .doc or .docx extension.
• The manuscript complies with the publication requirements established in the Authors section.
• The manuscript complies with the ethical, editorial, and originality policies established by the journal.
• The manuscript declares, where applicable, the use of artificial intelligence and complies with CRITERIA principles for the transparent, ethical, and responsible use of AI in scholarly publishing.
• The authors have verified that the manuscript complies with the principles of research integrity established in the Singapore Statement .
• The article includes title, abstract, and keywords in both Spanish and English.
• If the article derives from a research project, the project title, code or identifier, funding source, and year of execution are indicated.
• Whenever possible, bibliographic references include DOI. When no DOI is available, a valid and verifiable URL should be included, where appropriate.
• Where relevant, authors have made available open science objects that support the reproducibility of the article, such as a data management plan, protocols, software, instruments, or datasets, with proper citation and a permanent link.
