Peer review process

Ecos de la Academia submits received manuscripts to a specialist peer review process under a double-blind modality, in which the anonymity of authors and reviewers is preserved throughout the review process.

Every manuscript submitted to the journal is preliminarily examined by the editorial team in order to verify compliance with the editorial guidelines, thematic relevance, and alignment with the aims and scope of the journal. This preliminary decision will be communicated to the corresponding author within approximately two weeks from receipt of the manuscript.

If the manuscript complies with the editorial guidelines and falls within the scope of the journal, it will be sent to at least two peer reviewers, national or international, selected according to their academic expertise and relevance to the manuscript’s topic.

The evaluation criteria include content quality, scientific relevance, originality, topic pertinence, methodological soundness, currency and sufficiency of primary and secondary literature, argumentative coherence, appropriate use of bibliographic sources, and the manuscript’s contribution to its field of knowledge.

Reviewers are encouraged to follow the COPE ethical guidelines for peer reviewers , in order to ensure a responsible, objective, confidential, and well-founded evaluation.

The final decision to accept, reject, or request modifications to the manuscript rests with the editorial team, taking into account the review reports received. In general, editorial decisions are communicated within approximately six weeks from receipt of the manuscript.
