Plagiarism policy

Ecos de la Academia considers all forms of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, unauthorized copying, improper paraphrasing, appropriation of ideas, omission of sources, citation manipulation, or inappropriate use of third-party content to be unacceptable.

Manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original and unpublished. This condition must be guaranteed by all authors through the Article Submission Letter . The journal does not accept manuscripts previously published, either in full or substantially, in another language, book chapters, editorial proceedings, conference proceedings, or other academic outlets that compromise the originality of the submission.

Authors are responsible for all materials included in their works, such as tables, charts, photographs, figures, instruments, datasets, text fragments, audiovisual materials, and any other resources required for publication. They must ensure that these materials do not infringe copyright, intellectual property rights, image rights, privacy, or any other third-party rights.

All manuscripts will be subject to editorial review, peer review, and verification through similarity detection tools. This review aims to identify textual overlap, unauthorized reproduction of content, unattributed paraphrasing, improper reuse of previous works, and other practices contrary to academic integrity.

The use of ideas, data, arguments, images, or textual fragments from other authors must be properly cited and referenced. When text is reproduced verbatim, quotation marks or block quotation format must be used, together with the corresponding reference, in accordance with the citation guidelines adopted by the journal.

Paraphrasing must substantially reformulate the original information while maintaining attribution to the consulted source. Superficial paraphrasing, mechanical substitution of words, undeclared translation of third-party texts, or appropriation of ideas without explicit acknowledgement of the source will not be accepted.

When evidence of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, redundant publication, or serious failure to meet originality criteria is identified before publication, the manuscript may be rejected. If the irregularity is detected after publication, the journal may apply editorial measures such as correction, expression of concern, or retraction, depending on the seriousness of the case.
