Data sharing and reproducibility policy

Ecos de la Academia adheres to open science principles and promotes transparency, reproducibility, methodological traceability, and independent verification of research results.

The journal recommends that data, instruments, protocols, code, supplementary materials, and other evidence supporting the manuscript’s results be made available as soon as possible, provided that publication is legal, ethical, and compatible with personal data protection, confidentiality, intellectual property, and participants’ privacy.

Manuscripts derived from empirical research must include a data availability statement, indicating, where applicable:

• Whether the data, instruments, code, protocols, or supplementary materials have been deposited in a public, permanent, and verifiable repository.
• The access link, repository name, persistent identifier, DOI, or other stable identifier, where available.
• Whether the data cannot be publicly shared for ethical, legal, contractual, institutional, or privacy-related reasons.
• Whether the data may be requested under reasonable conditions, indicating the procedure, contact person, and applicable access restrictions.

Where relevant, Ecos de la Academia recommends the use of internationally recognized repositories and platforms to ensure preservation, open access, citation, version control, and replicability of research materials.

Suggested platforms include Mendeley Data, Open Science Framework (OSF), Zenodo, Figshare, Dataverse, and GitHub for code, scripts, academic software, or version control.

In the case of systematic reviews, meta-analyses, or other designs requiring prior protocol registration, authors must declare the repository or platform used, such as PROSPERO, OSF, or another recognized platform, together with the corresponding link or identifier.
