Publication fragmentation policy

Ecos de la Academia adheres to standards of scientific integrity and does not accept the artificial fragmentation of research, also known as salami slicing. This practice consists of unjustifiably dividing the same study, dataset, research process, or argumentative line into multiple minor manuscripts when the results could be presented coherently, completely, and integrally in a single publication.

Authors must present their findings in a sufficient, articulated, and contextualized manner, grouping in a single manuscript the data, analyses, results, and conclusions that form part of a meaningful and publishable unit of study.

The artificial subdivision of research into partial, redundant, or minimally differentiated publications will be considered an unacceptable editorial practice when it compromises originality, transparency, data traceability, or the comprehensive interpretation of results.

The journal reserves the right to reject manuscripts that show unjustified fragmentation of research. If this practice is identified after publication, Ecos de la Academia may apply editorial measures such as correction, expression of concern, or retraction, depending on the seriousness of the case.
