Copyright and Intellectual Property
Authors retain copyright over their works in perpetuity. By accepting publication, they authorize Editorial UTN, through Ecos de la Academia, the right of first publication and grant a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to publish, distribute, preserve, index and disseminate the article in print, digital and electronic formats, without prejudice to the rights retained by the authors.
The ideas expressed in manuscripts are the sole responsibility of their authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Editorial Committee or Universidad Técnica del Norte. Authors guarantee that they have obtained the necessary permissions for any third-party material incorporated into the article.
The copyright and licensing conditions established for scientific articles are independent of the conditions applicable to the journal website and its institutional elements. The CC BY 4.0 license applicable to articles does not automatically extend to the website design, logos, trademarks, institutional identifiers or other content not expressly included under that license. The rights and conditions of use applicable to these elements must be identified separately.
Applicable License
Since 2024, the contents of Ecos de la Academia have been published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. This license permits sharing, copying, redistribution, adaptation, remixing, transformation and creation from the material for any purpose, including commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given, a link to the license is included and any changes made are indicated.
Historical articles that were legitimately published under a different license will retain the license indicated in their published version, unless the rights holders expressly authorize relicensing. Current policies must not retroactively modify the reuse rights of previously published content.
