Manuscript Structure

The structure will be adapted to the document type, but the official template will use the following order as a reference. Not all subsections are mandatory for all document types, except those expressly indicated:

  • Title in the original language of the manuscript and required versions in Spanish and English.
  • Structured resumen and palabras clave; structured Abstract and Keywords.
  • Introduction.
  • State of the art or background, when applicable.
  • Methodology. It must make it possible to understand and, when possible, reproduce the design, participants or sources, instruments, variables, procedure and analysis. Substantial use of AI that forms part of the research process is declared here.
  • Ethical considerations within Methodology, when applicable: informed consent, assent, data protection, permissions, ethics committee approval and anonymisation measures.
  • Results, presented without mixing the interpretative analysis corresponding to the Discussion.
  • Discussion, in a separate section. It must interpret the findings, compare them with previous studies, explain similarities and differences, analyse relevance and applicability, formulate practical or policy implications when permitted by the evidence, and identify knowledge gaps and implications for future research. Recommendations must be proportional to the certainty of the evidence.
  • Conclusions, aligned with the research objectives or questions, derived from the results and without introducing new evidence.
  • Limitations, when applicable, transparently presenting methodological, sampling, instrumental, contextual or scope-related constraints and their possible influence on interpretation or generalisation.
  • About the article: contribution statement; conflict of interest; funding; ethical certification or approval when applicable; data availability; open science objects ; and article history, the latter for editorial use only.
  • Acknowledgements, optional.
  • Bibliographic references.
