Research Article

Presents original results derived from empirical, theoretical, methodological or applied scientific research. It must include, as applicable, title, abstract and keywords; introduction; methodology; results; discussion; conclusions; limitations when relevant; bibliographic references; and the final declarations required by the journal. Results and Discussion are presented as separate sections. Length: between 5,000 and 9,000 words, excluding references. A minimum of 40 cited bibliographic sources is required.

Review Article

Corresponds to a systematic, narrative, integrative, scoping or other form of academic synthesis that examines a specific scientific topic from a critical and reflective perspective. It must analyse, compare and discuss the findings of at least 40 previously published academic articles. The review must formulate a clear research question, reproducibly describe the search, selection and evidence-analysis strategy, use recognised standards when appropriate —for example, PRISMA or Cochrane guidelines— and register or publish the protocol on an open platform when required by the methodology. Length: between 5,000 and 9,000 words, excluding references.

Case Report

Describes and analyses in detail a single case or a small group of cases in a real educational context. It must clearly present the problem, context, intervention or situation analysed, methodology, results, limitations and possible transferability to other educational contexts. Length: between 1,500 and 2,500 words, excluding references.

Short Communication

Presents preliminary findings, partial results, research advances or limited-scope studies with scientific relevance to the field of education. It prioritises the timely communication of novel results that may guide subsequent research. Length: between 2,000 and 3,500 words, excluding references.

Academic essays, technical notes, book reviews and editor's notes are not considered current document types for new submissions, unless the Editorial Committee formally approves a future amendment to this policy.
