Tendencias de consumo turístico de los Millennials en la ciudad de Ibarra

Abstract
El turismo en los jóvenes se ha convertido en una actividad muy frecuente especialmente por aquellos
que comprenden edades de 20 a 35 años y las tendencias han sido un factor clave para muchos sectores.
En el presente estudio, se realizó una investigación de las preferencias de turismo de los llamados jóvenes
Millennials o generación. Por medio de la revisión de la literatura se analizó la importancia del turismo
en el país así como en la ciudad de Ibarra, además de las características de los jóvenes de la generación
mencionada. Se aplicó encuestas al grupo objetivo en donde se obtuvo como principal tendencia de
consumo turístico de los Millennials el hecho de viajar solos, por cuenta propia a realizar actividades
de turismo relacionado con la aventura y naturaleza, atraídos por lo que se informan de la ciudad y los
alrededores, en internet y las redes sociales
