Ecos de la Academia maintains digital preservation mechanisms through LOCKSS and CLOCKSS , in addition to the institutional backup provided by the Digital Repository of Universidad Técnica del Norte . These mechanisms contribute to the storage, integrity, traceability and long-term accessibility of academic content.
Historical preservation records exist for the journal's content through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) . Continued deposits of new content in this network will be declared active only after the corresponding service has been installed, configured and operationally verified in OJS.
In the event of the temporary or permanent cessation of Ecos de la Academia, preservation and access to previously published content will be maintained through the digital archiving systems that are operationally active and through the Digital Repository of Universidad Técnica del Norte . The journal will maintain contingency mechanisms that allow its academic archive to be preserved, recovered and made accessible over the long term, even if it ceases publishing new content.
