Artificial Intelligence in Elementary Education: Innovations, Challenges and Future Perspectives
Main Article Content
Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has conquered the educational space, offering unprecedented possibilities for teaching and learning. Its potential to deliver personalized learning, streamline administrative management, and provide comprehensive support is a significant advancement in the way learning is generated. At the same time, AI-based platforms are transforming the way feedback is provided, allowing teachers to focus their educational activity on those activities that generate holistic development for each and every one of their students. However, this same aspect can also pose challenges, many of which are of an ethical and practical nature, as in the case of data processing capabilities, algorithmic bias, and the digital divide in which we run the risk of immersing ourselves by incorporating AI into the educational system, all perspectives that add a new bias to the inequality already present in it. These concerns show us the need to train teachers in the ethical and conscious use of AI to achieve a correct integration of AI tools.
