Abstract
El Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes de La Habana atesora una importante colección de pintura europea del siglo XIX. Entre las obras más representativas encontramos las procedentes de Italia, Alemania, Francia, Gran Bretaña y España. Particularmente, la pintura española decimonónica destaca por el gran volumen y el valor de sus piezas. El artículo que presentamos a continuación está dedicado al análisis de uno de los ejemplos más significativos de la colección de pintura española del siglo XIX del Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes de La Habana, el paisaje titulado Castillos en la costa (1840) de la autoría del artista gallego Genaro Pérez Villaamil, considerado el creador y máximo exponente del paisajismo romántico español.
