Abstract

Enrique Ayala Mora es uno de los historiadores de mayor reconocimiento en nuestro país y la región, su carrera prolífica como investigador y docente se plasma en decenas de libros y artículos que lo ubican como un referente a finales del siglo pasado de la nueva historia del Ecuador y en este casi cuarto de siglo que transcurre como un académico que aportó en forma decidida y pragmática a la profesionalización de los historiadores. Por ello, este libro es abordado con la trascendencia que implica enfrentarse al autor y su obra. Mentiras, medias verdades y polémicas de la historia, es un texto no solo divulgativo historiográfico sino también recopilatorio a lo largo de una vida dedicada a los archivos, su aproximación científica y consolidación es producto de investigaciones que vuelven a ver la luz, y otras que con la profundización del autor han sufrido ajustes para mostrarse en este nuevo trabajo.
