El uso académico de Facebook y WhatsApp en estudiantes universitarios: un estudio comparativo entre España y Ecuador

Abstract
El presente trabajo analiza el uso de Facebook y WhatsApp y c.mo estos son utilizados por estudiantes universitarios
para realizar diversas actividades acad.micas como resolver dudas, relacionarse con compa.eros
de clase, consultar horarios, calificaciones, etc. Este estudio analiza dos casos particulares dentro de Espa.a
y Ecuador: la Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (Barcelona, Espa.a) y la Universidad T.cnica del Norte
(Ibarra, Ecuador) con el objetivo de comparar el uso de estas herramientas dentro de diferentes contextos.
El an.lisis muestra que las diferencias en el uso de redes sociales se basan principalmente en dos variables: la
naturaleza propia de cada actividad acad.mica y el agente con el que se llevan a cabo.
